Milk feeds should be prepared and given according to professional guidance to ensure your baby's health. Not following preparation and hygiene instructions can make the baby ill. Avoid prolonged or frequent contact of milk with your baby's teeth to reduce the risk of tooth decay. Considering combination feeding, c mbining breast and bottle feeding in the early stages may decrease your own milk supply, and it can be challenging to switch back to breastfeeding once you have chosen to formula feed.

Preparation and Usage:

Preparing Aptamil 1 First Infant Milk is simple and convenient, thanks to its infant milk ready format and stand sealed bottle design. To ensure your baby receives the best care, always follow these instructions carefully:

1. Before opening, check that the sealed bottle is intact. Do not use if the seal is broken.

2. Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the feeding bottle or formula.

3. Shake bottle well to mix the infant milk evenly.

4. Unscrew cap and immediately add a sterilised teat to the feeding bottle.

5. Aptamil First Infant Milk can be served at room temperature, or you may warm the sealed bottle by standing it in hot water. Do not heat feeds in a microwave, as this can cause hot spots and risk scalding your baby.

6. Always test the temperature of the milk on your wrist before feeding to ensure it is not too hot.

7. Follow the feeding guidelines based on your baby’s age and weight:- 1 week (3.5kg): 30-70ml per feed, 6 feeds per 24 hours

• Up to 2 weeks (3.5kg): 70-90ml per feed, 6-8 feeds per 24 hours

• 2-4 weeks (3.9kg): 120ml per feed, 5-6 feeds per 24 hours

• 4-8 weeks (4.7kg): 150ml per feed, 5-6 feeds per 24 hours

• 8-12 weeks (5.4kg): 180ml per feed, 5-6 feeds per 24 hours

• 3-4 months (6.2kg): 180ml per feed, 5-6 feeds per 24 hours

• 4-5 months (6.9kg): 210ml per feed, 5-6 feeds per 24 hours

• 5-6 months (7.6kg): 210ml per feed, 5-6 feeds per 24 hours

8. Newborns may only take small amounts of infant milk at first. Every baby is different, so consult your healthcare professional for advice tailored to your child’s needs, especially when combining breast feeding and bottle feeding or starting a weaning diet.
